To start trading in Kenya, you need to register your company with Company Registry and then register with Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). With the introduction of the Company Act 2015, it only requires a minimum of 1 director. Company director must be 18 years old or over.
You will need to come up with company name suggestions that will require a name search to be carried out in order to check its availability for registration.
Company Registration Requirements
You will need to collect the following the requirements and have them ready so we can prepare your company document that you will need to sign before we submit them to Company Registry;
- Directors details – you will need to provide their full names, occupation, postal addresses, residential addresses, shares allocation among others.
- Company Details – company office location is required, if you don’t have one, you can use your home address. You will need to give the nature of your business (business activities), postal address (if you don’t have one, you can register one with Posta Kenya), company email address, phone number among others.
- Proof Identity Documents – each director/shareholder will require to provide copy of ID, passport photo and copy of KRA PIN Certificate.
Certificate of Incorporation & Memorandum
After Company Registry has finished with the registration process and issued the Certificate of Incorporation and Memorandum, we will pick the documents on your behalf and deliver it to you to your preferred location. Please note that international delivery will incur extra charges.

Company KRA PIN
We usually apply for company PIN for our Premium Plan customers after the company has been registered. Your company PIN will be sent to your email address once we have registered on iTax system. Company KRA PIN is one of the most crucial document that your company will require to open a bank account, make tax returns or when applying for government tenders. This service is only offered to our Premium Plan Customers.

Limited Company registration cost varies depending on your needs. We currently offer two (2) package plans as shown below;

How long does Limited Company take to be registered?
Name search – 1-2 working days (Subject to Company Registry workload and working days)

How many directors do I need to have in my company?
At the moment, Company Registry only allows a minimum of 1 director and a maximum of 7 directors. If you have more than 7 people, they will be added to the company as Shareholders.
Will my documents be delivered to me once it is ready?
We currently offer delivery within Kenya using reliable courier companies such as G4S, Securicor, Coast Bus, EasyCoach. Please note that International delivery will incur extra costs. Find out more
