3. How we use your data and our lawful basis

4. Who we share your data with
We never sell your data. We share it only with:
- Kit (ConvertKit LLC), which sends our newsletter and email challenge.
- Our website host and WordPress service providers, which store website form submissions.
- Algolia, only when you ask us to introduce you, so they can provide a demo, proposal or contract.
- Professional advisers, such as our accountant, where needed.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
5. International transfers
Dealpoa is based in Kenya, and some of our providers (including Kit and Algolia) are based in the United States. Your data may therefore be transferred outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on safeguards approved under UK and EU law, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or the provider’s certification under the EU–US and UK–US Data Privacy Framework.
6. How long we keep your data
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe. We then keep only your email on a suppression list so we don’t email you again.
- Health Check and enquiry details: up to 2 years after our last contact, unless you become a client.
- Client and accounting records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually 6–7 years.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- correct inaccurate data
- ask us to delete your data
- restrict or object to how we use it, including objecting to direct marketing at any time
- receive your data in a portable format
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing
To unsubscribe, click the link at the bottom of any of our emails. For any other request, email support@dealpoa.com. We will reply within one month.
You can also complain to a data protection authority: the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), the supervisory authority in your EU country, or Kenya’s Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke). We would appreciate the chance to help first.
8. Cookies
We use necessary cookies to make the website work and to remember your cookie choices. With your consent, we may also use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. You can accept, reject or change your choices at any time using the cookie banner, or by clearing cookies in your browser. Our email sign-up form is provided by Kit and may set its own cookies.
9. Security
We use secure (HTTPS) connections, access controls and spam protection, and we work only with providers who protect personal data appropriately.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
