KRA Shuts Down ITMS and Launches New iTax System

Do you want to hear the good news or the bad news? Let’s start with the bad news. If you are looking to register your KRA PIN using the KRA Integrated Tax Management System (ITMS), well it has been disabled.

It seems KRA has disabled the registration of KRA PIN on the ITMS platform as part of the migration to the new iTax system.

As I tried to check out the iTax system website, I was applauded by the loading speed which takes too long to load. However, the loading speed could be caused by the huge traffic all over the country of people rushing to register their KRA PIN or make returns online for their personal or business.

The good news is that the iTax system seems to have new functionality and it’s more user-friendly than the previous ITMS system. Here is the sneak peek of what you will be seeing more and more.

New iTax Service

In a paid advertisement on the newspaper some few days ago, KRA announced that they will no longer accept any manual returns in any of their offices, which means that everyone will need to learn how to perform such tasks online.

  12. Yes you have disabled the ITMS. We were not printing copies of the return since we knew the information was readily available online. Now we can not make reference simply because you have decided to deny us the privilege of longing in to ITMS. I think it would be prudent and a good idea to disable filling returns on ITMS but give us the privilege to make references.
    I guess many taxpayers have the same out cry.
    Please consider this request.

  13. kindly help me by loading my new ID NO.34703377 into the kra system.
    KRA pin is urgently needed and I don’t posses it because my new ID has not been loaded on the system.
    kindly load it on your system so that I can registere for the KRA pin as soon as possible.
